Spoilers: what the pilots find out

Awakening. The Intruders crossed the Line without warning or demands. A faint signal on an old fleet channel repeats under the noise.

Defend the base. The Intruders went for our hangars and fuel, and passed over the barracks. They are not trying to kill everyone.

The shipyard. The Intruders scan every hull they pass, as if hunting for something. Their data cores are in no language we know. A call sign came through the static: a Bulwark tank, missing for three weeks.

City defence. The Intruders searched the city and left the people alone. They are looking for ships, not people. The call sign comes from the old Phobos orbital dock.

Signal in the static. The Intruders did not try to kill the crew. They tried to take the ship. They want our hulls as much as our fleet.

Clues

  • They spare people. The Intruders went for hangars and fuel and flew over the barracks. They are not trying to kill everyone.
  • Hull scans. They scan every hull they pass, as if hunting for something. Their data cores are in no language we know. A call sign came through: a Bulwark tank, missing for weeks.
  • They want our hulls. The Intruders spent weeks trying to cut the Bulwark out of the Phobos dock. They want our ships as much as our fleet.
